My name is Ed Ash. I am an archaeologist, artist, outdoor enthusiast, traveler, and sober bon vivant. I have a BA in Anthroplogy from East Carolina University. Go Pirates. I have 20 years or so exp as a field tech.
Myself and other similarly minded volunteers are constructing a full-scale replica of the Bighorn Mountain Medicine Wheel. The original is restricted; ours will be open to the public and unrestricted.
I have purchased property near Sunshine, New Mexico. Great name, right?!! We will be using locally sourced dolomite at approximately $60 per ton delivered.
Planning is going forward now, with August 2025 expected as the date of center cairn placement. Donations will be used to counter construction costs, travel, accommodations, taxes, facilities, utilities, student loans, and previous expenditures.
Ed Ash, Luca Ash, and Angus Ash will receive funds and disperse them.
Be a part of this experiment and join us in money or you are welcome to volunteer.
Update for May 25 2025.
I located the photos from my visit to the property in august last year (2024).
You can see how wonderfully rugged. It is and I built a small wooden marker on the Corner of Lucca and Nogales to mark North West corner of property.
Florida Mountains slightly
visible to East.
