Ebony Michelle Tyler is a poet, singer, cat lover, and beloved friend.

She is in her late 20's and has been dealing with medical mysteries since her junior year of high school. She is working on getting Supplemental Security Income as well as Disability Income and needs funds to help with medical expenses as well as other expenses.

Her balance has been a major obstacle since the summer of 2014. She has been an ambulatory wheelchair user since then. In 2019, she worked on her balance in physical therapy without much improvement. She has recently also acquired a walker and a cane.

She has suffered constantly from vestibular issues that cause vertigo since 2014. It feels like she is swaying as if on a ship. There has not been a link with any inner ear conditions.

Multiple times a day, while standing or walking Ebony feels her body get weak and her legs give out and the world grays out. This sometimes happens in dangerous situations like while crossing the street or using stairs. Graying out involves tunnel vision, muffled hearing, and colors being less vibrant. This has been happening for many years. She has seen a neurologist about this issue but due to other medical problems she has not been able to have her autonomic nervous system tested.

Ebony has chronic nausea and vomiting which interferes with nutrition, ability to work, and has affected her ability to go to school. It has resulted in multiple leaves of absence from her career and university education. Despite this she has managed to obtain her Bachelors of Art.

She has been experiencing debilitating chronic pelvic pain. She has been to many doctors including pain specialists and gynecologists. They are unsure how to manage Ebony’s pain and find themselves out of their depth.

Her asthma is being treated with the correct kind of inhaler as of May of this year. Before that any attempt to medicate left her short of breath and shaky. She has lived in an area of bad air pollution during her life.

Ebony has been sent to the emergency room often due to her high heart rate while at other medical appointments. She is now wearing a heart monitor despite being allergic to the adhesive used in order to record her heart palpitations and racing heart.

Medical journey:
Ebony just had an exploratory surgery on the 18th of July to see if there is a possibility of lymphatic cancer, a rare autoimmune disease or endometriosis.
Update from July 22nd: The biopsy has mostly ruled out cancer and endometriosis. The next step is to meet with a hematologist.
