Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

My name is Ebby Lee, and I am a single mom to 3 wonderful children who are my greatest blessing. I am reaching out today with humility and hope, asking for your help as I navigate a challenging and overwhelming time in my life.

I am currently living with chronic pain due to a serious medical condition that requires surgery, bilateral hip replacement to be precise. I’ve been pushing back for the longest as the only provider of the family. Pain has now become so severe that a simple task like standing up or walking has become a daily struggle. It breaks my heart that I can’t fully care for my children the way they deserve, and this situation has taken a toll on my physical, emotional, and financial well-being. Working hard and pushing through seems never enough in this economy. Crying all my tears just to go through a whole shift serving tables which I love, trying to make the best out of it, “what’s the choice”, I tell myself.

The cost of surgery and ongoing medical care is far beyond what I can afford as a single mother. On top of that, the cost of living where I am is too high for me to sustain. After much thought, I’ve decided that returning to my home country is the best option for me and my children. There, I can access more affordable healthcare, rebuild my life, and provide a better future for my kids. See the smile back on their faces.

Why I’m Asking for Help

As a mother, it is my greatest wish to give my children a safe and happy life. But I can’t do it alone. Not this time. Asking for help isn’t easy, I’ve always been highly independent individual due to life circumstances, but I’ve learned to accept that I’m no Wonder Woman and it’s totally okay not to be okay. There’s no shame in asking for help. I know that there is strength in community and kindness.
