Help VANNtastic Support East TN Families After Helene

Hello... This is Christy Vann. I am a resident of Sullivan County, TN.

The Carter County line begins 2 minutes from my county. Elizabethton, Valley Forge, and Roan Mountain are the main towns effected in Carter County and have many areas of complete destruction. While Unicoi County - the towns of Erwin, Embreeville and Chucky along with Greeneville in Greene County have taken a catastrophic hit from the remnants of Hurricane Helene to almost complete devastation of businesses and homes. Many very small towns within the areas mentioned have seen complete destruction, as well.

The chaos is just overwhelming. I have heard many are dead and missing. Many more have lost EVERYTHING. Not to mention, our First Responders are exhausted from working endless hours trying to reach people stranded within the areas mentioned.

So, 100% of the donations received in this fund will provide as many families as possible with housing, water, food, clothing and supplies needed for survival until FEMA and insurance companies start helping these families get into safe housing. VANNtastic will distribute water, warm meals, underwear, toiletries, etc. home to home, as needed. We are volunteering to work with IDES out of Elizabethton to help with cleanup and supplying necessities. We will be making donations directly to the IDES and ARM, as well. We will make donations to the local high schools that are being used as shelters. Donations will also be going to Loaves and Fishes to offer warm meals throughout the week. I have heard from many that they had ZERO flood insurance due to they were not officially in a flood zone.

This fund cannot possibly help ALL, but ANYTHING we do is better than doing NOTHING.

I’m always teaching that GIVING is your opportunity to GROW….and here it is.

East Tennessee has never experienced such a catastrophe as Hurricane Helene has dumped with this flooding.

100% of donations will go straight to the families experiencing displacement, etc. in the East Tennessee communities with such major loss.

Because I live here and can witness the needs…I know where to make the greatest impact with donations. So please consider helping me with this cause.
