Climate Justice Victoria is hosting an Earth Day +1 prostestival on, April 23rd! (the day after Earth Day)
We are asking YOU to help us make this the best event it can be. Our venue has been graciously donated, but we do still have costs to cover. We are making sure that all those who contribute as an allied organization or person, especially those from historically and systemically marginalized backgrounds, are compensated for their time and energy in this event. We are also raising funds to cover any equipment and supply costs, promo costs (posters), and to cover workshop supply costs (any rentals needed, art supplies, etc)
We are comingtogether by celebrating the ways that arts and organizations are used to address living with the climate crisis, responding to it, and preventing further impacts through the efforts of climate and social justice.
There will be a number of visual and perfoming artists featured throughout the afternoon. In addition, there will also be a few workshops held during the day and info tables for many of our favourite organizations.
This event is hosted on the lands of the Lekwungen people, also known as the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations. All organizers and participants look to the guidance and leadership of our local nations in our ongoing work for social and ecological decolonization.
