My name is Justin, and my background is in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I work with a local nonprofit, helping families strengthen communication, build life skills, and create more connected, supportive homes.
Recently, I met a family—and their 8-year-old daughter—who I haven’t been able to stop thinking about.
Imagine watching your child struggle every single day with overwhelming emotions—feeling anxious, frustrated, and unable to regulate their reactions—and not having the answers or resources to help them.
This child is facing ongoing challenges with aggression, anxiety, and emotional regulation. Daily life can be unpredictable and exhausting—not just for her, but for her entire family. They are doing everything they can, but without a formal Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) evaluation, they are unable to access the services and therapies that could truly change her life.
An official diagnosis is the key that unlocks support—therapy, school accommodations, and tools to help her better understand and manage her emotions.
Right now, they are stuck waiting.
Medicaid-covered evaluations can take months—sometimes over a year. That’s time this child simply cannot afford to lose during such a critical stage of development.
A private evaluation could happen much sooner—but it costs $1,900 out of pocket.
We are coming together to raise these funds so she can get the help she needs now—not a year from now.
