I’m originally from Florida and currently live in Georgia. I grew up in the foster care system after my parents were unable to care for me. Later, my sister and I were raised by our aunt and uncle. While they provided a roof over our heads, I endured years of emotional and psychological abuse that continue to affect me today. Despite the choices my caregivers made in their own lives, much of the blame was placed on my sister and me, leaving lasting wounds that I am still working hard to heal.

Even with all of this, I have always pushed forward, determined to build a better life for myself. I strive to be compassionate, hardworking, and deeply loyal to the people I love. For most of my life, I have survived without financial or emotional support from my family, doing my best to stay grounded, grateful, and hopeful even when life has been especially hard and unforgiving.

Right now, I am not only supporting myself but also helping care for my older sister, who has hearing loss and faces challenges similar to those our father struggled with. I do this with very little outside support and without complaint.

In October of this year, I accomplished something I never thought I would — I purchased my very first vehicle entirely on my own. Given my background and circumstances, this was a moment of immense pride and proof that I was capable of creating stability for myself. Unfortunately, due to ongoing financial hardship, my vehicle was recently repossessed.

This loss has been a devastating setback, impacting my ability to get to work, manage daily responsibilities, and maintain stability. For someone who already carries so much on her shoulders, this moment has been overwhelming.

This fundraiser is to help me:

• Regain stability and independence while continuing to support my sister
