Imagine the thrill of designing and building your very own miniature Formula 1 car — and watching it zoom to speeds of up to 20mph in under 1.1 seconds!
This is the STEM Racing Challenge, formerly known as Formula 1 in Schools, and we’re aiming to win this incredible competition while pushing the limits of engineering, technology, and business.
Our team is tasked with designing, testing, and “manufacturing” a high-performance Formula 1 car using cutting-edge technologies such as CAD/CAM, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), CNC machining, and 3D printing.
It’s not all about aerodynamics — we also need to build a brand that’s as fast as our car. As a team, we operate like a real-world company, managing everything from budget planning and marketing to sponsorships. Our car will be judged not only on its performance, but also on the strength and professionalism of our team’s brand.
We’re competing for the chance to progress through Regional, National, and World Finals, but to get there, we need your help. Our goal is simple: to raise the funds required to design, build, and test our F1 car. Every donation will go towards purchasing materials and software, covering manufacturing costs, and building our brand — helping to turn Dymaxion Racing into a race-winning machine.
Why We Need You
STEM Racing is extremely resource-intensive, with costs increasing exponentially at each stage of the competition. We aim to raise £1,000 to give ourselves a realistic chance of winning the UK Regional and National Finals. While we are actively seeking corporate sponsorship, attracting businesses without prior victories is incredibly challenging.
Any contribution, big or small, will help us get to the start line, prove ourselves, and build momentum behind the team as we race at the highest level.
Join us on this thrilling ride — donate today and help us race for victory and represent Westminster School on the national and world stage!
