I am not usually one to ask for aid, but life circumstances have pushed me in this direction.

I am asking for support in funding my upcoming thyroid surgery.

Shortly after Hurricane Helene hit the Appalachian region, I began experiencing strange medical symptoms that prompted me to head to the ER in Asheville. After X-ray and CT imaging, a mass on my thyroid was discovered. This led to further testing, through ultrasounds and two biopsies, the latter including genomic testing of the tissue.

The genetic test (Thyroseq) revealed a very high probability of the mass being cancerous, and as a result, I am scheduled to have a thyroidectomy, or removal of half, if not all, of my thyroid.

All prior tests and imaging have been self-pay, and I am anticipating further bills as well as losing weeks of work during my upcoming appointments and future recovery. Any bit of aid helps tremendously!
