My name is Dylan Michael Miller and I’m a writer, director, and actor creating a body of work that is specific and personal to me. Filmmaking is my declaration of existence and my life’s work. With every film I want to continue to learn and grow while maintaining and expanding an identity that was established in previous works.

SIRENS, my second and most exciting film, is a paranoid thriller set in a rural seedy motel following Grace and Lee, an on again off again couple since childhood, holed up in the neon soaked Room 1 where Lee, half-psychotic and in withdrawal, orchestrates a plan to get money from Grace's unsuspecting mother. Simultaneously, Lee is anticipating a police ambush given the warrant for his arrest which could come to fruition any second now. On top of all that: Grace has a newborn baby, Bryson, who watches it all unfold with innocent eyes.

The spine of the film is the relationship between Grace and Lee, and exploring the death of the childhood crush. The false romanticism of “I can fix him”. The kid you knew in elementary school who lit up any room they walked into, but is now a cautionary tale.
My previous film, BROTHERS, followed two friends who were bonded by a shared lifestyle of addiction, and how their bond could never really be broken even when it’s killing them.
This film is about cutting that bond for the sake of you and your child’s future.

This is my most important project at my current age of 23. I’ve assembled a team made up of my closest friends-- who just so happen to be the most talented people I’ve ever met.
The goal of $8,000 will allow us to do the following:
  • Pay and feed our cast and crew, as well as Nathaniel, the 3 month old actor making his debut as Bryson.
  • Cover location fees of the newly built Shamrock Court in Sullivan, MO
  • Shoot on 35mm film, as well as cover development and scanning costs. A dream of mine and the Director Of Photography, Ben Herrell. We feel it is the appropriate and essential format for this project.

Any generous donation, no matter the size, would mean the world to me and my team. All contributors will be named in the end credits of the film.
I'm including a link here to the opening scene and exteriors that we shot, along with behind the scenes footage with a commentary from myself.

Thank you very, very much for your support.
