Support Dylan and Esme's Journey to Reconnect
Donation protected
As Dylan and Esme navigate this unexpected challenge, we are reaching out to friends, family, and the community for support. Every little bit helps, and any contributions will go directly towards easing the burden of their unplanned expenses.
Dylan and Esme have always been there for others, offering help and support whenever they can. Now, they find themselves in a tough spot, and it’s our turn to lend a hand. The funds will not only help cover their accommodation and food but will also allow them to enjoy their time together as a family, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
We have set up a fundraising page where you can contribute, and we would greatly appreciate any help you can provide. Whether it’s a small donation, sharing this page with others, or simply sending your positive thoughts, it all makes a difference.
Dylan and Esme, last visited myself and my kids in 2019. He had no issues with booking tickets through cheap tickets guru website. Again in July of 2024 he did the same, after saving up for 5 years.
They started their journey yesterday, checked into a hotel and were shuttled to the airport this morning. Upon check in, the clerk advised them they needed a NZ eta document. Not knowing anything about this document, turns out it is a digital copy of your passport. They have visitor visas to NZ as is. But they needed this NZ eta as well. They refused to let them board and pushed them aside to help others, advising they needed to ring the call center. They stayed in the airport most the day and on phone calls being transferred here, there and everywhere. They were able to submit over the phone the info from the passport to create this digital passport, for an added $471. While it was pending they still wouldn’t let them board the plane from Sea-tac to LA.
Since they were refused entry they were given options to abandon the tickets and go home or change flights. The cost to change the flights from this evening to next week is $1,800- (soonest they offered as NZ eta was pending) was on the 25, in 5 days time.
My brother was left to decide to either continue on the journey and forgo the money he saved for his trip to NZ or save it and go home and not see his family in NZ.
He chose to go ahead and come see his family.
This leaves quite the dilemma, as he now lost a good portion of money he was going to use for his stay here in NZ.
They are traveling with a toddler and Esme is 5 months pregnant.
We understand that times are tough for many, but if you can spare anything, it would mean the world to Dylan, Esme, and their little one. This journey to New Zealand is not just a vacation; it’s a chance for them to reconnect with family, share in joyous moments, and celebrate the love that binds them together.
Thank you for reading this page.
