Hi, my name is William. I am helping my friend Dwight raise money to purchase a used Nissan pickup.
See, last year, while Dwight was staying with his stepson in Western Franklin County, a young person stole his Toyota Highlander and totaled it. Because the young person was a minor and his parents are on tough times, there's no way to obtain recompense through the court system. Dwight works as a ski instructor at Mt. Snow and a carpenter in the off-season. A truck is essential for him to transport his tools to jobs and commute to and from the mountain.
If you've spent any time in the Valley in places where people are in recovery, you likely know Dwight or know someone Dwight's helped. Dwight has been giving aid to hundreds of people over the last several years. He routinely speaks in rooms as far away as southern Maine without a second thought. Dwight is by far the most selfless person I know. His faith in his higher power and the community is rock solid, but it's a lot for him to request help directly from friends.
So, this is where we come in. If you feel like the world is going to hell in a handbasket, know that in good times and bad, people in our broader community have some understanding of mutual aid. This is an opportunity to lend a hand to a community leader in need of mutual aid.
Please give generously so that Dwight can purchase this truck, stay employed, begin saving, and possibly get housing down the road.
Thank you so much!
