A few weeks ago, my dear friend Dwayne suffered a severe ischemic stroke that landed him in the hospital on 8/13/25 for several weeks. Thanks to his determination and the incredible care he received, he has made great progress and was able to return home on 9/4/25. While this is a huge step forward, the road to recovery is still long. He continues to face challenges with one side of his body and will need ongoing care, appointment, and rehabilitation.

Dwayne is a boisterous, fiery soul with a heart of gold. He can be quick-tempered, sure, but anyone who knows him also knows he's the first person to give the shirt off his back if someone else is in need. He's fiercely independent, and asking for help doesn't come easily to him - but right now, he and his girlfriend truly need it.

Since his stroke, both he and his girlfriend have been unable to work. She has been by his side caring for him as he adjusts to this new stage of recovery. With both of their incomes on hold, they are struggling to cover basic living expenses such as:

Gas to get to and from medical appointments

Car payment & Insurance

Groceries & hygiene essentials

Medical Expenses not covered by insurance
