Hi friends, family, and animal lovers!

My name is Dusty. I am three years old (almost four!), and on August 27th, I was very bravely protecting my home from all sorts of critters, when I got attacked by a fisher cat! That's a type of weasel, and would you believe those critters are TOUGH? Thankfully I made it back to the safety of my home, but my leg got hurt pretty badly in the process.

My humans took me to the vet and they looked at my bones, and told my humans the best thing to do for me is to amputate my leg! My humans tell me that will make me a "tripod" cat. They think that name is cute and so do I. I'm not worried about only having three legs, but the leg that critter got sure does hurt a lot right now.

If you see my story, could you maybe help my humans pay for my surgery? Apparently this type of thing costs a lot of money! If you can't donate some money, could you maybe tell some other people about me? I really want to get back to my daily schedule of sleeping in sunbeams and showing my fuzzy belly off to anyone who comes near me, and it will be so much easier to do that once I am pain-free!

Any money donated will go directly towards what the vet says the surgery will cost. If there is any leftover, my humans plan to use it on getting things for the house that will make it easier for me to adjust (like a recovery vest or a donut, because I keep taking off my cone!)
