On 4/16/26, At 11:40a.m. My sister received one of those phone calls every aborists wife fears and hopes they never recieve.

Dustin, my brother in law, was gravely injured and lost a lot of blood. He was up in a tree at work and cut his arm. He managed to cut his rope and repel down, landing on someone’s shed. A coworker climbed up to Dustin and started a tourniquet, called 911, and an ambulance was on the way.

If it wasn't for Ben, my brother in laws coworker, my sister would be having to deal with so much more worse circumstances, which after the death of our youngest sister, and all the other trauma her, Dustin and the kids have been though, this could have very well been the straw to break Lyndsee completely.

When the medics got him to the hospital he was in emergency surgery within seconds.

He cut his Brachial artery, and a lot of nerves. They got the artery to stop bleeding and he has blood flow going down to his hand. He is in the ICU, in Harborview, while he stabilizes after losing so much blood. Unfortunately, due to the nerve damage there is more surgery in his future, as well as a long recovery ahead.

Right now, the future is uncertain. But what we do know is there will be medical bills and loss of wages. Hopefully, Dustin will regain the full use and feeling of his arm, but it is still uncertain if he will be able to return to the career he loves so much. We are asking for some assistance to help get them through this difficult injury.
