Support Dustin Shreves' Memorial Expenses

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that our family must share the unexpected passing of Dustin John Shreves on Thursday, November 7th. He fought hard but ultimately succumbed to the destruction that sepsis had done to his most vital organs after an infection had ravaged his body far more than he cared to admit. Our family spent eight days gathered around him in the ICU, willing him to fight, and ultimately had to make the choice between end-of-life and quality-of-life.
Dustin worked in construction for many years throughout Indiana and Florida. He was incredibly artistic and could light up a room with his humor. In his free time, you could find him hooping it up on the basketball court with his brothers and nephew, drawing another awesome tattoo design, or cracking the family up with his jokes and antics. Dustin was a unique soul who paved his own paths and was not afraid to live life as he chose. Although, as with anyone, we did not agree with all of his choices, we loved and will miss him all the same. Dustin is survived by 8 children, his mother, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, aunts, uncles, and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a special someone who stood by him steadfast through his illness even though their relationship was cut entirely too short.
We are all devastated by Dustin's passing and, in this economy, find that none of us have a funeral's expenses tucked away and disposable. Dustin had not made preparations to be gone by 38 years old, either, so now we are burdened with trying to give him a proper cremation and memorial to respectfully and lovingly say goodbye to a son, brother, father, uncle, and friend.
I am currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of my little brother, Dustin's, end-of-life expenses. We have all pooled together to reach the $1500 goal to cover his cremation expenses alone. This has been such a grueling week for our family and we are scrambling to find ways to pay for Dustin to be respectfully memorialized rather than taking much-needed time to grieve and cope with this loss as a family. Our family is strong-willed and fairly stubborn by nature, so convincing them to ask for help was like pulling teeth, but here we are... here I am. If anyone is interested in helping, you can donate through GoFundMe or I have listed our individual Cash App identifiers if you are more comfortable donating to one of us directly. I know that many are in the same financial boat as we are at this time in the world and I want to thank anyone in advance for any help you can and wish to offer, no matter how small. It means the world to all of us! Our mother deserves to put her son to rest peacefully, and his children, siblings, friends, and extended families deserve their final goodbyes.
Anything we raise above our $1500 goal for cremation will be put towards his remembrance dinner, his final destination, and to start a trust fund for Dustin's children that our family will continue to grow with them in his honor.
