On the evening of March 29th our family received the worst call imaginable. Dustin and Koen where on their way home from Brentwood after attending a small family dinner. Just like any normal day, we said our goodbyes…. 45 minutes later our world changed. At the end of Vasco Rd to Livermore Dustin and Koen were struck head on by a motorcyclist who crossed the double yellow lines and collided head on totaling their SUV. The impact of the crash ejected the motorcyclist into the windshield causing Major injuries to Dustin.
Dustin and Koen were rushed to Eden Hospital Trauma Center.
It is a MIRACLE they both survived from this horrific accident. There must have been Angels watching over both them and our family is so grateful that they are alive.
Dustin and Koen are pushing forward to recovery by continuing to receive the medical care and support from our family. They have a long road ahead of them.
As you know living in the Bay Area and being a single father is already a financial hardship. Due to the Covid 19 situation Dustin was on unemployment and homeschooling Koen. All of it is already extremely stressful but with the overwhelming amount of out-of-pocket costs for medical expenses like surgeries, medications, transportation to even grab your daily essential items, it has placed our family in a financial hardship.
