2 years ago after getting married, my spouse joined the service. We moved overseas and loved every bit of it.
December of 2023 what we thought was a stomach bug ended up sending my spouse to the hospital after filling the toilet with blood and vomiting bile. I rushed her to the hospital and we found out that she was septic and was diagnosed with a severe case of diverticulitis. After nearly two months of treatment she was scheduled for a colonoscopy followed by surgery the next day.
The colonoscopy was completed and resulted in the gastroenterologist coming into her recovery room to share that the next day surgery was going to be put on hold. During the colonoscopy, a large mass was found. Cancer. What was originally diagnosed as diverticulitis, was actually the mass that perforated her colon.
Within 9 days we were medically evacuated to the states for her treatment plan and more answers.
This is where we received her official diagnosis, Stage 3 Rectal Cancer. A panel of doctors is working hard to give her the best care. Between 25 radiation treatments and currently receiving chemo, she is fighting with all her might and spirit. She is strong and her faith is stronger. She will have surgery in the near future and we are all hopeful. Anyone who knows her knows just how beautiful her soul is, knows how many lives she has touched and impacted, and her story is nowhere near being over.
She is currently active military so she is receiving care through the hospital on base and we are so grateful for this along with a home, water and electricity!
Due to the sudden evacuation, I had to leave my job. I have been applying and searching endlessly for employment. If you can think of it, I’ve applied to it. I have not had luck securing employment yet. With that being said, we have additional bills that must be paid. Any financial support that you can provide temporarily is truly appreciated.
I am grateful for your support and prayers! Thank You!!!
