This is really hard for me to post, but I’m at the point where I have to put my pride aside and ask for help. As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with an ongoing health crisis and have been out on medical leave since early February. My short-term disability was approved and I was receiving 60% of my pay from March through May — but now it’s under review again, and I haven’t received any income in almost 2 months. That’s been a huge setback.
Anyone who knows me knows how hard I work. I’ve been juggling two full-time jobs since 2021 — my day job and running our all-volunteer animal welfare organization. I was laid off from my job here in June due to restructuring and don’t have anything to return to once I’m cleared to work again. I’m still in the middle of testing, more ultrasounds, and trying to figure out what’s going on with my body while we prepare for a biopsy. It’s exhausting, physically and emotionally. I found a lump in my armpit last night and that has been added to my ultrasound along with the neck/head ultrasound. I found that the neck/lymph node ultrasound that I had in June, they failed to note on any of the nodes although CT scan showed an enlarged cervical node at the very least. So this new finding is not very comforting.
Ryan has been doing everything he can to keep us going, but going from two incomes to one (especially with all the unknowns) is tough. He’s an amazing plumber and works so hard — if you know anyone who needs plumbing work, please consider him. It really does help our family more than you know. Precision Plumbing Co. Call or text [phone redacted].
I hate asking for help. It makes me feel weak.. actually.. even sick to my stomach— but honestly, not being able to contribute or keep up with bills is even harder. We’re trying not to lean on credit cards or dig into home equity, but with no income coming in for me right now, we’re feeling the pressure.
If you’re in a place to help financially, even a little bit, I’ve added my Venmo, PayPal, and Cash App below. And if you’re not, I totally understand — just sharing this or referring someone to Ryan for plumbing work is a big help too.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us — through our rescue work, through Ryan’s business, and just by being good friends. We’re really lucky to have you in our corner.
Please note: those of you awaiting replies for cat related things, I am trying to catch up and I apologize for my delays, things have been so hectic and I'm trying to delegate tasks as much as I can.
