Support during Lindsay’s recovery after surgery
Donation protected
Hello friends and family, I am asking for support for me and my kids while I recover from a septic joint infection and surgery.
On Tuesday June 13th I woke up with pain in my ankle that continued to worsen as the day went on. I knew something wasn’t right and decided to go to the Emergency Room. Over the course of the next 4 hours I went from mild pain to some of the most excruciating pain I’ve felt since childbirth. By the time I was finally seen I was now shivering from a 103 fever and had an elevated heart rate and almost passed out from the pain. They immediately admitted me and started me on IV antibiotics. Over the next few days of scans, tests and eventually surgery the doctors found that the infection had traveled to my ankle joint. On Monday, after 6 days hospitalization I was discharged and sent home but had to have a PIC line inserted (an IV catheter that goes in an artery in my arm and extends to just before my heart) and will have to be transported to the hospital daily to receive antibiotic treatments for 6 weeks.
I am a single mom of 4 that relies on being able to work full time to support myself and my family and do not know when I will be able to be on my feet and back to work and need help to sustain my monthly expenses so I can focus on healing quickly. The stress of this financial strain is an impossible one for me to bare alone so I am reaching out to my wonderful community for help.
The goal I have set reflects 2 months of my living expenses plus estimated costs of outpatient therapy that I will be responsible for as I am not currently insured.
Thank you all so much for any and all donations and support
