My name is Hailey. I fostered my sweet Dunkin in 2022 and failed hard when I fell in love with this little special guy. Dunkin was born with brain damage, a cleft palate, a collapsed rib cage, partially blind, and fully deaf. But it never stopped him (only his growth haha). He has been the happiest, goofiest forever puppy there is. At 2 and a half years old, he's made so many friends and puts a smile on anyone's face he meets.

Over the past few weeks, Dunkin seemed a little more sad and clingy to me. We did X-rays, didn't see pneumonia, and then ran labs yesterday and found out his sodium levels were off the chart high. Which on a normal pet would make them mentally obtunded and severely critical. We tried lowering his levels slowly with normal fluids, but they are unchanged. Dunkin needs to go to a critical care ICU and be seen by an internist to determine the cause because with his other values, nothing is leaning us in any direction of answers and/or making any sense. He has to be on special fluid administration at a severely slow rate to lower his values at an okay rate that won't make his system become isotonic and he crashes. As a young adult living alone, I only have a small amount saved and can't sadly afford this, so I'm reaching out for help to see if we can reach a goal to get him the medical care he needs this weekend. Any amount helps and will go 100% to his medical bills.
