I created this go fund me on behalf of Dung’s family during this difficult time.
Help us Bring Dung Nguyen Home.
Dung was doing the right thing, honoring the law and keeping his commitment by checking in with his parole officer. He walked in with honesty and responsibility, but instead of being recognized for the good man, father, and community member he has become, he was detained. Now his family, who depend on his love and presence every day is left heartbroken, fearing separation from the person who means the world to them.
Twenty years ago, my brother Dung Nguyen made a mistake. Like many young people, he was lost and made choices he deeply regrets. He took responsibility, served his time, and spent the last two decades working tirelessly to rebuild his life.
Since then, Dung has grown into a devoted father, husband, and valued member of his community. He works hard every day to provide for his family, and he gives back by supporting those around him. He is not the same person he was in his youth. He is a man who has proven through years of love, service, and responsibility that people can change.
Now, all of that is at risk. Despite decades of living an honest and productive life, Dung has been detained by ICE. His green card was revoked over a crime from his adolescence, a crime for which he has already paid the price. If deported, he will be torn away from his daughter and the only home he has known for most of his life.
Dung’s family is devastated and terrified of losing him. His daughter needs her father. His wife needs her partner. His community needs the man he has worked so hard to become.
We are asking for your help to cover urgent legal fees and related costs to fight for Dung’s freedom. Every dollar raised will go directly toward keeping this family together and ensuring that Dung can remain in the country he calls home.
Your support, whether through donations or sharing this campaign, can make the difference between a family being shattered or staying whole. Please help us fight to bring Dung home.
