Hi everyone,
My name is Katherine, and I’m a first-generation immigrant and QuestBridge scholar at Columbia University. My 3-month-old kitten, Dumpling, was recently diagnosed with a severe eye ulcer. The vet confirmed that the only way to stop his pain and prevent further complications (death being the most crucial one as his eye will burst soon with no intervention) is to remove the damaged eye. The surgery and recovery are estimated to cost around $4,000.
Dumpling is my emotional support animal and has been a huge help in managing my OCD, PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Things at home have been difficult lately, and having him here with me has been one of the few things keeping me grounded and emotionally stable.
I currently work two jobs to cover my student contribution, and my mom and I don’t have the resources to afford an unexpected medical expense like this.
If you’re able to donate or share this link, I’d be deeply grateful. Every contribution will go directly toward Dumpling’s surgery and recovery.
Thank you for taking the time to read this,
