Duke City Fencing has a wonderful history of providing a safe, warm and welcoming environment for the new and returning fencer alike. We have trained champion fencers at many levels and of many ages. Our greater achievement is the community that we have built that allows each of us to flourish in our own way.
This March is our 15 year anniversary. We have former adult fencers bringing their children to fence with us! We would like to be here for the next generation, that's 15 more years to go.
Because of Covid-19, our club is currently closed. Thanks to Facebook, Instagram and soon Zoom, we are reaching out to you with training ideas and videos. And you have been reaching out back to us! This continuing sense of community gives us hope that you will be there when we are able to meet again.
But basic bills for the club continue to be due. An extended time of closure threatens our ability to be here when the time comes to fence again. Our main concern is rent and salary for Coach Evandro and family. We are asking for your support. While loans are a possibility, without a time frame for re-opening and increased income at that time, it does not make financial sense. This is why we are fundraising.
If you can give any amount, we are truly grateful. Funds received will go directly to club bills and Coaches salary. As you may know, Toby receives only your smiles for her work at the club.
For your continued outreach on social media, we are eternally grateful; for each post and each video that shows us you still care about fencing.
Thank you for these past 15 years. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your family.
Yours,
Toby Tolley and your DCF crew
