Support Duc's Family in Cancer Bills

Hi!
My name is Catlynn and I’m reaching out with the deepest humility and hope for your support. My dad, my role model, was fighting against liver cancer and unfortunately has passed on December 11, 2024 in the hospital.
He was diagnosed with liver cancer earlier this May, and our lives changed overnight. He went through extensive chemo, multiple ER visits, acquiring care from different hospitals, and surgeries later in his life. We tried about everything medically possible. In October the doctors said he'd have about another year, we didn't know it would be just a month and half after.
Too soon. That just about summarizes this.
He was the heart of our family and we weren’t prepared to lose him. My dad was a man of great strength, patience, and resilience. He was always there to help others, no questions asked. No matter how tired he was, no matter now seemingly impossible the task, he always found a way. He relentlessly worked 12 hour work days for over 30 years to provide for my family as a small business owner. When his small business shutdown after the internet boom, he restarted his life and worked as hard as possible to get us back up. Seeing him work so hard day in day out with little to no complaints always broke my heart. When he was diagnosed I wanted to take care of him in return, but it wasn’t enough.
If you are an individual from SJB, my father has built the nativity annually for the catholic church for over 15 years. Yes it is the extreme one made as a rock cave. It has always been from his own passion and heart to build it every year, but also served as a family tradition. We will be continuing the tradition this year in his honor. The church gave him a community that filled him with joy, hope, and love. His faith allowed him to continue going forward in his most difficult times.
Unfortunately, we were extremely unprepared for the aftermath and after his passing we have accumulated almost $160k from Kaiser alone, and an additional $100k from two other hospitals where they performed the last two surgeries in desperate efforts to prolong his life. In his last two weeks he underwent two emergency surgeries and one scheduled surgery to help with his medical condition. We spent our very last moments with him in the hospital. I wish I was joking about the expenses, but America’s healthcare system took us for a wild ride these past few months. It pains us to ask but in this trying time we need all the support we can get. If you’d like to attend his mass you can also reach out for more information. Thank you and I know he’s with God thanking you too.
