Hi, this donation is for our cat, Ducky. He is only 8 months old and the sweetest baby ever. We rescued him and his siblings from a barn at the beginning of this year and helped get them all adopted, and just HAD to take little Ducky home with us...
On 5/19, we had to take him to our vet clinic because he was very lethargic and breathing rapidly, which they then concluded he was in critical condition and needed to go to the emergency animal hospital. They are still determining what is wrong with him and have him in an oxygen tank to assist his breathing. Once we get his bloodwork results back, it'll better help assess his condition. Currently, they ruled out congestive heart failure and are leaning towards it being aspiration pneumonia. He is going to be staying at the hospital for a few days to figure everything out. We hope to bring him home soon and get him back to playing fetch and running around with his two big brothers soon!
Donating would greatly help with his vet clinic and emergency hospital bills and would be VERY appreciated as we go through this stressful and scary situation. Anything would help and support little Ducky!
**UPDATE: He has had many tests and most recently had ultrasounds done which gave the vets a better understanding of the mass that was seen on his initial x-rays. It seems to be fluid and not a solid mass so he shouldn’t need a biopsy. Currently, they think it could be a build up of fluids or mucus in his lungs that is causing the breathing troubles and enlarged heart. It could still be aspiration pneumonia or possibly asthma.
