My name is Ben. I'm a queer, disabled person currently on disability, living with my partner.
My partner and I are looking for support to pay for a full mastectomy for our cat. She has had two mastectomies in the past two years to remove growths, and our vet thinks her best chance at beating it is to get a full one.
Our cat Dublin is my emotional support animal who's been crucial to my mental health while on leave. I've acquired a significant amount of debt taking care of her so far.
The initial appointment cost is around $300. The initial removal surgeries were between little over $2,000 (see attached image for the price breakdown of the last surgery), so we're estimating around $6,000 for both the appointment and the surgery itself.
I feel awful asking for anything given the state of things for most people right now, but if you have a spare couple of bucks here or there, It would go a long way toward keeping my relatively young cat alive and healthy. Having her around while I've been homebound and mostly isolated due to my disability would mean the world to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
