Duane Casebolt Sr. was diagnosed with bladder cancer in June 2024. After months of chemotherapy and a major surgery to remove his bladder, our family was hopeful for his recovery. However, in May 2025, Duane began experiencing severe back pain, and further tests revealed that the cancer had spread to his vertebrae and liver. This news has been devastating for all of us, especially as insurance has denied coverage for the recommended chemotherapy and alternative treatments.
Duane and his wife Bonnie moved to Sandpoint, ID in 2021 to enjoy retirement together in nature. Despite facing many personal challenges, Duane has always leaned on his faith and worked hard to support his family and friends. He is a loving grandpa, father, husband, brother, son, and a dedicated church member. Over the past several months, his health has made it difficult for him to manage daily tasks, but his spirit remains strong.
We are now seeking help to cover the costs of a thirty-day inpatient treatment at Hope for Cancer in Tijuana, Mexico, as well as follow-up appointments and related expenses. Duane can begin treatment as soon as September 22, but all payment is required up front. Our family is contributing as much as we can, but the financial burden is overwhelming. We hope these treatments will give Duane more time with us and improve his quality of life. Any support will help us pursue the care he needs and allow us to cherish more moments together.
