A Lifelong Friend Needs Your Help: Duane's Journey Back to Recovery
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Hearts,
For nearly 40 years, Duane Jorgenson has been more than just a friend to me; he's been a brother. We met in my martial arts studio, where he blossomed from a dedicated student to a skilled instructor, touching countless lives with his passion and empathy. He volunteered his time offering free martial arts lessons to the community because he deeply believes financial limitations shouldn't prevent anyone from experiencing its transformative power.
Duane has always possessed incredible character and resilience. He faced his struggles with alcohol dependence head-on many years ago. He thrived, finding strength and purpose in martial arts and the support of our community.
Unfortunately, life has thrown Duane some devastating curveballs. Persistent health issues, coupled with a major life change, led to a relapse, culminating in legal troubles. The news broke my heart, but it didn't break my faith in the good man I know Duane to be.
Immediately, with the help of a mutual friend, we got Duane back to San Diego, where he was assessed by a doctor and enrolled in a treatment program. He is now actively and diligently working towards regaining his sobriety. This swift and decisive action is a testament to his inherent strength and his determination to reclaim his life.
Duane is committed to turning things around, making amends for his mistakes, and building a brighter future. But he needs our help.
The legal fees, medical expenses, and ongoing treatment costs are substantial and present a significant hurdle on Duane’s road to recovery. That's why I'm reaching out to you today. We're starting this GoFundMe to help Duane get back on his feet. All funds raised will go directly towards covering:
Legal Fees: Ensuring Duane has the best possible representation.
Treatment Costs: Supporting his ongoing recovery program and therapy.
Medical Expenses: Addressing his underlying health issues that contributed to the relapse.
Duane is, at his core, a kind, caring, and compassionate individual. He deeply regrets his actions and is fully committed to making things right. Every dollar, every share, every word of encouragement will make a difference.
Please, join me in supporting Duane as he navigates this difficult chapter. Let's show him that he is not alone and that we believe in his ability to overcome this challenge and continue to contribute positively to the world.
Thank you for your generosity, your compassion, and your unwavering support.
With heartfelt gratitude,
