Ten years ago, I started Dickens Sanomi Academy with just three special needs students—one of them being my own son. As a mother and educator, I saw firsthand the urgent need for a school that not only provides academic learning but also the essential therapy services that special needs children require to thrive.

Over the past decade, DSA has grown from a small classroom to a vibrant community of 187 students, each with unique abilities and incredible potential. Our school has become a sanctuary—a place where children who often struggle to find acceptance elsewhere can learn, grow, and receive the support they need.

But now, we need your help to save our school.

DSA needs a permanent home to continue serving these extraordinary students. Securing this space will require up to $1 million, and we cannot do it alone. Your generosity can help ensure that our students—past, present, and future—continue to have a place where they are seen, heard, and given the tools to succeed.

How Your Donation Helps

Every dollar goes toward creating a lasting impact for our students. Here’s a breakdown of how your generous contributions will be used:

✅ Acquiring Permanent Grounds – $200,000

Instead of continuing to rent, we want to purchase property for DSA, giving our students a stable and reliable place to learn and grow.

✅ Furnishing the New School – $75,000

From classrooms to therapy spaces, we need furniture that supports optimal learning and development. This includes desks, chairs, sensory equipment, and therapy rooms.

✅ Technology & Educational Materials – $50,000

To provide the best learning environment, we need up-to-date technology, interactive whiteboards, computers, and educational materials for our RBT, ABA, and therapy teams.

✅ Specialized Equipment for Special Needs & Behavioral Support – $25,000

This includes sensory tools, adaptive seating, and behavior intervention resources to ensure every student receives the support they need.
