Drover is a 3-year-old German Shepherd who was owner-surrendered and is now in need of heartworm treatment. He is the absolute sweetest and biggest baby you will ever meet, but unfortunately, his previous owners started at home heartworm treatments that have been ineffective, so we are now seeking professional help. Since I have taken over his care, I plan to get him treated for the heartworms but do need some financial help to do so.

For two doses of the heartworm injection, it is $500. Prior to the injection, he will need to be on Doxycycline and/or Prednisone for 30 days along with a monthly heartworm prevention chew. The cost of the antibiotics is around $45. Drover unfortunately does not do well with injections or poking and prodding at all (as I learned very quickly at his first vet appointment), so there will more than likely be an extra cost of some slight sedation to complete the injections safely and effectively.
