Hi everyone,
Last week I was hit by a car while riding my bike. I was lucky to be wearing a helmet and avoided a head injury, but I wasn’t as lucky with my back. After going to the hospital, doctors confirmed that I fractured my L3 vertebra in my lower spine.
The good news is that the injury should heal without surgery. The difficult part is that recovery requires about six weeks of rest and limited movement. Unfortunately, I work as an independent contractor, which means if I’m not physically able to work, I don’t have income coming in.
I’ve tried to push through and work, but the pain and movement restrictions make it impossible right now. My focus needs to be on healing properly so I don’t cause long-term damage.
I’m raising funds to help cover basic living expenses during recovery, including rent, food, and medical costs while I’m unable to work.
If you’re able to help in any way, I’m incredibly grateful. Even sharing this page helps more than you know. I’m hoping to recover fully and get back on my feet as soon as possible.
Thank you for the support and kindness.
Any extra proceeds will go to a new bike and transportation so I can get to and from work once I'm healed.
