Hi, my name is Drew Losnedahl, and I’m a 15-year-old bass trombonist from Lansing, Illinois. I am currently a sophomore at Marian Catholic High School. I am working toward my dream of becoming a professional orchestral musician. I started playing the trombone in eighth grade with the Northwest Indiana Youth Symphony Orchestra and fell in love with the bass trombone’s warm, powerful sound. I’m excited to perform with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras (CYSO) Symphony Orchestra, where I get to play alongside talented young musicians. My experiences at the Interlochen Low Brass Intensive and as a member of the ILMEA All-State Orchestra have been amazing opportunities to deepen my passion for music.
I am currently a member of the Bone Rangers trombone quartet and I’m dedicated to improving my skills through private lessons at the Merit School of Music, summer music camps like Interlochen and the Pokorny Low Brass Seminar, and keeping my Bass Trombone in great condition. These opportunities come with costs like tuition, instrument repairs, and travel. My parents have always supported my music, and I started this GoFundMe to help cover some of these expenses, making it easier for them while I pursue my passion.
Any support you can offer will go toward my CYSO tuition, instrument care, lessons, and music camps that keep me moving forward as a musician. Every contribution helps me continue playing and brings me closer to my goal of performing in orchestras like the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Thank you for supporting my musical journey!
