Drew & Madison’s Long Road to Recovery: Medical Fundraiser

Donation protected
Hi everyone, my boyfriend, Drew, and I were struck by a car while we were on a motorcycle Thursday (3/27) evening. I only suffered a broken femur with a clean break with 2 small displaced fragments and a fractured wrist from landing impact, leading me to only need a simple surgery with a metal rod put in my entire thigh. We were initially struck from the side leaving us with broken legs in the exact same spot.

But on the other hand, Drew suffered way more by flying in the air off the motorcycle leaving him with pieces of bone scattered around the road, blood loss, bones popping out of his leg, and these injuries:

  • Shattered distal femur compound fracture
  • Kneecap lifted and displaced
  • Fractured tibia right below knee
  • Heel fractured and will need reconstruction.
  • Gashes on arms, chest, and face

The doctors have said that our recovery time will be about a year to gain full strength and mobility back. This puts both of us out of work, work that we both do using our hands and standing on our feet all day.

I’m starting this fundraiser because Drew does not have medical insurance. I have medical insurance so I would like for most if not all of this money to go towards Drew. All of the money raised will go towards not only his out of pocket medical bills and multiple surgeries while being in the hospital, but his out of pocket cost prescription medications and therapies following being released from the hospital, as well as loss of work for both of us.

We hope to have smooth speedy recoveries and don’t forget to wish Drew a happy birthday April 6th!
