Support Drew's Family Through Medical Crisis
Donation protected
Hello, I'm Heather, and I have been friends with Drew since we were nine. I'm organizing this on behalf of her and her family, with permission from her spouse Shawn and their sweet boys Liam and Scout. All funds will go directly to Shawn to assist with medical expenses, bills, and anything else needed during this trying time.
2024 has been a tough year for Drew and her entire family. In February, they lost their sweet, beautiful Mother/Gigi, Glenda, after a long, hard fought battle with Lymphoma coupled with the aftermath of COVID. The family gave their all to her care and ensuring that her memory was honored.
On Friday, May 17, 2024, the unthinkable happened. With their sweet young boys soundly sleeping, Drew and Shawn settled in for a (finally) relaxing night playing some video games. Without warning, Drew suffered sudden cardiac arrest. Shawn immediately sprung into action and provided life-saving CPR until Paramedics arrived. I wholeheartedly know that I speak for everyone who knows them when I express my deepest gratitude for his quick action during a horrifically traumatic experience. It is because of him that she is still with us, and their sons still have their mother. Shawn has not left her side since, unless forced out due to strict visitation restrictions dictated by the hospital.
Subsequent to her cardiac arrest, Drew was diagnosed with Left Ventricular Hypertrophy and was in the Intensive Care Unit of Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA until today, when she was moved to a step-down unit within the same hospital. She is facing a very long road to recovery, with many unknowns at this time.
Drew and Shawn are both self-employed and, with the current circumstances, are unable to work. Drew will require round the clock care for an unknown period of time, which lends to its own expense, not counting the already rising medical bills and basic living expenses for a young family of four.
Drew has always been vivacious to the core, full of light and love, and has given her all to care for the people in her world. She's an INCREDIBLE woman who stops at nothing to make sure that everyone she encounters feels loved and supported.
It's our turn to give back and show her and her family the love she has for forty years shown us.
No amount is too small. If you are unable to give monetarily, please SHARE, offer up positive energy, and/or prayer.
