Drew is an Army veteran and local police officer. Throughout his years of service, Drew has dedicated his life to protecting and serving the community, putting his own life at risk to save others. Now, it is our turn to show our support for him and his family during this difficult time.
In April of 2023 Drew was diagnosed with transverse myelitis resulting in an incomplete spinal cord injury. He would spend 35 day in the hospital learning to walk again. He was on his way to a full recovery but when his insurance termed at the end of June he could no longer attend physical therapy, and with no income he could not afford to pay out of pocket. He would continue to work hard on his own but would suffer a flair up and backslide in improvement in January of 2024. He then resumed physical therapy under his VA coverage. After not seeing any improvement Drew requested a MRI to see if he had some new infection that was inhibiting his improvement. Ultimately Drew was hospitalized at Cleveland Clinic on May 28th 2024. They were able to give him an additional diagnosis of adhesive arachnoiditis, meaning his spinal cord is stuck to his spinal canal and it must be surgically fixed. He will have this surgery on June 14th. Drew and his wife Saundra will need to spend some extended time in Cleveland for his recovery.
Since Saundra is a hairdresser and cannot be behind the chair to bring in money, medical expenses can quickly become overwhelming. Your donation, big or small, will make a meaningful impact on Drew and Saundra as they navigate through this unforeseen challenge. Let's come together as a community to support this hero in his time of need. Your generosity will not only alleviate financial burden but will also provide Drew with a peace of mind and comfort he deserves as he fights this tough battle.
