Drew Piper, my brother, is facing one of the toughest challenges of his life after a devastating motor vehicle accident on Martin Luther King Day. Drew is currently in the trauma ICU with multiple fractures to his neck and ribs, a bruised lung with a perforation, and is relying on a ventilator and feeding tube. The road to recovery will be long, with months of physical therapy ahead before he can regain his independence. To make matters even more difficult, Drew's car was totaled in the accident, and it will be a long time before he can return to work.
The financial strain is overwhelming. Drew will need help covering basic living expenses like food and rent once he is released from the hospital and physical therapy unit. The accident also left him without health insurance, so he will need support paying for monthly prescriptions and ongoing medical expenses. Getting a new vehicle is another hurdle he will face as he works toward rebuilding his life.
Drew's family would like to thank everyone in advance for anything you can do to help—even if it's just a share. Your kindness and support mean the world to us during this incredibly difficult time, and every gesture is so greatly appreciated.
