Support Drew and Claire's NICU Journey
Donation protected
Drew and Claire Parker found out this year that they were pregnant with not one, but two baby boys. Claire began showing signs of early labor and was admitted to Baptist Hospital on November 3rd at 20 weeks and 3 days. She was then transferred to UK at 22 weeks for access to the level 4 NICU where she remained on bedrest. They tried their best to stop her labor, but she ultimately had a c-section on December 11th at 26 weeks. She gave birth to two precious tiny baby boys named Tate and Preston. Preston weighed 1.11 lbs and Tate weighed 1.9lbs. Drew was able to hold baby Tate right after the delivery which was a huge blessing and is often unheard of as the babies are taken quickly.
The days following her delivery were full of ups and downs as the babies fought hard to survive. On Christmas Eve, Tate became very sick with necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) and was taken into emergency surgery. Little buddy was able to make it through surgery, but his tiny body surrendered the battle and went to be with our Savior and his Uncle Jim on Christmas Day.
Today, his brother Preston is still fighting an uphill battle in the NICU at UK. As of now, Claire and Drew are in a wait and watch period. Preston will remain in the NICU until his initial due date in March.
For those who feel compelled to ease the heavy financial burden this is placing on Drew and Claire, a GoFundMe has been set up. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. All donations will directly go to Claire and Drew.
On behalf of Drew, Claire and their families, please cover them in prayer as they continue the fight for Preston, for Claire to heal quickly post c-section, and for the families hearts as they grieve the loss of sweet Tate.
