Support Drea's Recovery from Gun Violence
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Drea and unfortunately I am victim of gun violence in Oakland, CA on Mother’s Day, Sunday the 11th of May.
As I was standing outside of Oakland’s Fox Theater, waiting to go home, a man began firing a weapon from his vehicle, to which I was struck in the lower left leg. I was taken to Highland Hospital where they were unable to remove the bullet, and I was sent home a few hours later, unable to walk.
After this, I mustered up the courage to clock in to work the next day due to being unsure if I could afford to miss work. My Doctor’s discovered that I was still attempting to work, and very quickly began working on paperwork for my job so that I may stay home and recover. Due to being unable to fulfill my job duties, I am unable to work until I recover. I am scheduled for bullet removal within the next month, so thank God I will not have to live with this foreign object in my leg forever.
Beside all of that, by the Grace of God he spared me my life and I was able to make it to my 27th birthday the following week on May the 18th. Writing this post or creating this gofundme is very hard for me to do, as I strongly dislike asking for help in any way, shape, or form.
Anything you can spare would be a great blessing to me, and help me as I recover from this very unfortunate act of violence.
Thank you all again so much, and God Bless you and keep you safe.
