Support Drea's Battle with Aggressive Cancer

Hello, my name is Drea. I come from Canada and I'm currently living in the United States.

At just the start of this year, I felt something was off. I had begun growing a lump and it was unusual. I had just moved to America and I didn't have my medical insurance at the time.

Thinking maybe this would eventually go away on its own, in May I decided to visit Canada for a birthday trip and decided to get the lump checked as it began to get worse. With a series of tests over the course of almost 2 months, I was officially diagnosed with breast cancer on July 11th, 2025.

I didn't think much of the lump for the longest time until I had it checked. Thankfully, it has been caught early. It is a very aggressive tumor and continues to rapidly grow. Thankfully, it hasn't spread to other parts of my body yet. Treatments have been discussed and I will be starting my first chemotherapy appointment very soon.

I don't know what to expect. I do not have family to share or confide in this news with. I will be battling this cancer without family support. It's scary, but I believe I can beat this. The only other person who had cancer in my family was my grandmother. She died from cancer. Bless her soul. I miss her every day and can't imagine the pain she had to go through herself.

This treatment course will be taking about a year in Canada.

I came to GoFundMe for help. I currently do not have the funds for traveling back and forth to all my appointments. The hospital I need to visit is about an hour away. I have asked for something closer, but this hospital specializes in cancer.

I am unable to work during all this. Funds will help with medical expenses, traveling, and living expenses.
