For those who know Draven Brandon knows she is not one to ask for help or one to tell her personal situations. I have gotten the oka from her to start this go fund me and to share with everyone the short version of what has happened.

Draven has recently been diagnosed with Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome due to persistent vomiting from pancreatitis causing severe malnutrition which caused the Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome.

Draven began to get sick January 3rd by January 26th the vomiting was non stop 24/7 and she developed double vision and blurred vision and stayed extremely dizzy 24/7. She would describe it as being on a boat that was spinning very fast and constantly.

February 13th will be a day I will never forget. The morning of February 13th I woke Draven up to try to get her into the wheelchair to take her to the bathroom and she fell between me and the bed. She had completely lose the use of your legs. She had no idea what what going on or that she was even in the floor. Her speech was so delayed by this time she could barely and I could barely make out what she was saying. Her pupils were fixed and her lids were dropped very low. We got her into the car and I began driving her back to Jackson General for the 4th time. By the time we got there she had no speech no use of her body and she developed a very rapid eye nystagmus both vertical and horizontal... in the trauma unit at JMCGH she was diagnosed with Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome and giving thiamine by IV ever 8 hours for several days. Her speech improved alot and her cognitive abilities improved alot with the exception of her memory she still had alot of memory loss with alot of short term memory retention troubles and some word recollection and word relay issues but unfortunately did not get her eyesight back and the nystagmus did not go away. She had a lumbar puncture done February 29th at Jackson General that caused a great deal of pain to go from her head down into her spine anytime she moved or laid flat on her back that went on for several days.

March 1st she was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center where we discovered she also had a frontal lobe brain bleed to add to everything else she had going on.

March 8th she had to have another procedure done to replenish the spinal fluid in her spine due to low pressure and to patch where the first lumbar puncture was done to stop leakage. March 14th she was transferred over to Vanderbilt Rehab center where Draven has to go through Physical therapy, Occupational Therapy and speech therapy where they will help teach her how to walk again with the use of a walker, learn basic self-care tasks like bathing, dressing herself, brushing her hair and teeth, work on things like time awareness, managing her medications herself, getting into and out of a vehicle, standing from a sitting positing and expressing her needs and wants.

Due to her illness, Draven has been off work since January. Our family has been working together to take care of her, Ryker and Arlo, plus all her medications, bill, hospitals bills and doctors appointments during these last few months not knowing the long road we would be facing. Unfortunately it will be a long road to recovery which has led us to the decisions to make her a go fund me account to help with her journey as she recovers. We understand times are hard for everyone so we ask that even if you aren't able to donate please share and please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
