Drake, is my sweet baby boy. He’s a 3 year old purebred German Shepherd. He’s been the light of my life, the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I got Drake at 6 weeks old, I would sit on the floor with him and feed him formula. I raised Drake to be the sweetest, kindest, nicest boy. I also wanted Drake to love people and have people love him so he wasn’t another German shepherd judged by his breed.

Drake has been seen all over the world on social media, loved by so many people and brought so many smiles to people. It’s been such a joy sharing our life together.

Unfortunately several months ago Drake started having outbursts. Not acting himself. Not liking people. It was getting very out of hand and sad to see. He was becoming a dog I didn’t raise or recognize. So I was able to find Drake a specialist to help him. Unfortunately Drake is being treated for epilepsy/rage syndrome. 1% of dogs get this. There is no cure. Drake will have to be medicated for his whole life, and constantly see his specialist.

So far his medication has been working, I am able to see the sweet, loving boy I raised. But we have a long road ahead of us.

Drake has 2 upcoming appointments, to get blood tests done, to test his Phenobarbital levels (his seizure medication) a test to see if he has fungal meningitis, and 2 others. These will be sent to Colorado, one of the best labs. Then an appointment for his routine shots. I will do anything to fight and advocate for my sweet baby boy. I love him so much.
