has been a pillar of the Citrus-Hernando community for over 15 years, serving as a dedicated gastroenterologist and a compassionate friend to many. As his employee and close friend for over a decade, I have witnessed firsthand the countless ways he has gone above and beyond for his patients, staff, and neighbors. My own family has been touched by his kindness, and he has always put the needs of others before his own. Five years ago, Dr. Wallis founded the Doctors' Free Clinic of Citrus County, providing essential healthcare to those without insurance or access to care—often funding it from his own pocket. His devotion to his patients is unwavering, and he has always prioritized their well-being above all else.

Recently, Dr. Wallis faced an unexpected and deeply unfair challenge. Despite an impeccable record and the support of his patients, three area hospitals—Tampa General Hospital Crystal River, Citrus Memorial Hospital, and Oak Hill Hospital—suspended him from practicing due to a tremor in his right hand and his age. Even after passing every specialist evaluation required by the hospitals, they refused to reinstate him. This decision has cut his income by 80% and put the future of his private GI clinic and surgical endoscopy center at risk. The hospitals have also withdrawn their support from the free clinic he started, making the situation even more difficult.

Now, Dr. Wallis needs our help. He is not seeking donations for the free clinic, but rather for his own practice—to keep his doors open and continue serving the community he loves. He is asking for goodwill contributions to help cover the costs of running his clinic and surgical center, as well as his living expenses during this challenging time.
