Support Dr. Sian James' Holistic Clinic Dream

Hi, my name is Chemay and I want to introduce you to my sister-in-law, Dr. Sian James. Sian is not just my sister-in-law, she is also my doctor and the BEST one I have ever had! Sian has not only supported me during some health challenges, but she has taught me how to trust my own ability to heal myself by providing me with tools, practices, and information that I can rely on without having to always lean on her. Her belief is that we all have the power and ability to heal ourselves and that her job is to create the conditions so that her patients are able to do this. Over the years, I have had the privilege to witness Sian dive deeply into her passion and evolve in her practice. I love that she loves what she does and is so passionate about natural, holistic medicine and making sure more people of color get access to this type of care.

As a doctor of acupuncture, Sian often sees patients that come to her as a final resort after conventional medicine did not work for them. I call Sian a conductor of medical magic--she has had cancer patients leave her office with decreased cancer cells and tumor growth, others who were able to avoid invasive surgery, supported individuals in getting pregnant, assisted in the dissolvement of ovarian and breast cysts, and the list goes on. As a Black, Caribbean, female doctor of acupuncture, Sian is opening doors to a unique type of healthcare that combines ancient Chinese medicine with Trinidadian spiritual wisdom and natural medicine passed on by her ancestors. Sian is a medical medium and our world needs Sian and more doctors like her!

Sian's dream is to open up her own acupuncture and healing clinic. As an entrepreneur, I know, first hand, how expensive it can get starting up your first business. Not coming from a family of monetary generational wealth can often leave entrepreneurs like Sian having to navigate banks and other lending systems that, unfortunately, do not make the loan process easy for Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color. If and when we are able to get access to some dollars, interest rates are often extremely high making it challenging for us to yield profits right away given the amount of money that needs to be paid back. Let's not forget these bills are exacerbated by the piles of student loans we accumulate in order to do the work we love.

Regardless of the monetary obstacles I have witnessed Sian face, she still remains positive and focused on her end goal--to open up her clinic!

Unfortunately, in a society that often looks down upon holistic medicine, Sian and other doctors like her don't often get access to the same level of support conventional doctors are often privy to. Sian has shared her gifts with me and so many others often times not charging at all or very little for her dedicated services. In return, I'd like to support her by creating a start-up fund to get her clinic open without it causing added stress and pressure of her having to spend years working hard to pay back bank loans and investors. I truly believe that when we collectively come together to support a member of our community not only can we make magic happen, but everyone benefits from our communal giving.
