Hayam Kamal Shaker, M.D., 66, a beloved physician and mother in the Hendersonville community, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024, at her home in Loma Linda, CA.

Born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, Dr. Shaker immigrated to the United States in 1990. She moved to Hendersonville, NC, with her four children in 1995. Known affectionately as Dabdooba ("teddy bear" in Arabic), Dr. Shaker brought warmth and compassion to her community through her work as a family physician.

A pillar of Hendersonville for over 25 years, Dr. Shaker dedicated her life to healing, love, and serving God. Her humor touched many lives, and her dedication to her work and family inspired all who knew her.

Dr. Shaker is survived by her children, Andrew, Samuel, Mark, and Cheryl, along with her two grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, this page will fund her memorial in Hendersonville, NC where she spent her life serving her community healing, and bringing joy to everyone's life.
