I am Dr. Mairwais Momand, a resident of Hisar Shahi district of Nangarhar province.
When I came to the United States, both of my kidneys became severely ill, and despite treatment, they eventually failed. I am now living on dialysis. Doctors here in Missouri told me that finding a kidney might take three to four years, but now I am in my fifth year and still have not found any hope.
During these five years, with the help of friends, I explored hospitals in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Finally, I found a place in Herat where arrangements can be made for a kidney transplant. However, my family and I do not have the financial means to cover the cost of the operation.
Dear Muslim brothers,
I am deeply distressed and have no other option left. If you can support me financially, or if someone is able to cover the cost of my treatment, I will remember you in my prayers for the rest of my life.
“وَمَنْ أَحْيَاهَا فَكَأَنَّمَا أَحْيَا النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا
Allah Almighty says:
“And whoever saves one life, it is as if he has saved all of mankind.
