Dr Edward Bassingthwaighte — known to many as “the Healing Vet” — has dedicated his life to helping animals and their families live healthier, happier lives.

Now, after being struck down again by Lyme disease, he needs our help.

While he focuses on healing and recovery, his ability to work and keep his business running has been severely impacted. (Dr Ed has been advised to take at least 4 weeks off everything.)

This fundraiser will provide the support he needs to cover living expenses and keep his practice afloat until he’s strong enough to return to doing the work he loves.

For years, Edward has given tirelessly to others — whether it’s through his veterinary work, holistic healing, or teaching people how to understand and support their pets. He’s been a trusted guide, mentor, and friend to countless clients and their animals.

But right now, he’s facing a huge challenge. Lyme disease has left him exhausted, in pain, and unable to sustain the work that normally supports both his life and his mission. As a small business owner, there’s no safety net — if he can’t work, the business struggles.

This campaign is about giving back to someone who has given so much. Every contribution goes directly toward keeping his business alive: covering essential overheads, health costs, ensuring his clients still have a place to come back to, and giving Edward the breathing space to fully recover without the constant worry of bills piling up.
