My name is Dr. Caurice Wynter, a Fourth Year Emergency Medicine Resident Physician based in the Bronx, New York. I am the proud daughter of a Jamaican father who migrated from the island, and my late grandmother was born in St. Elizabeth—one of the parishes most devastated by Hurricane Melissa.
Those who know me know how deeply I love my country, Jamaica, and how much I continue to embrace my culture as a medical professional.
It’s on my heart to raise funds to directly support the hospitals and communities most affected by this storm, like Black River Hospital, which has suffered severe damage. In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, families have been displaced, roads have become impassable, and hospitals are struggling to care for patients as resources run low. Access to food, clean water, and essential medications is urgently needed.
Our Plan:
Alongside a dedicated team of family, friends, and fellow doctors and nurses, I plan to travel to Jamaica to personally deliver medical supplies, essential items, and direct support to hospital staff and community members in need. Together, we’ll work to bring hope, healing, and hands-on assistance to those hardest hit.
I will be providing live updates on this page so donors can see exactly where their contributions are going and the impact they’re making.
Funds raised will go directly toward:
• Medical and first-aid supplies
• Non-perishable food and clean water
• Hygiene kits and baby items
• Materials to help restore hospitals and clinics
• Generators and communication equipment
Every donation—no matter the amount—will make a meaningful difference in helping the people of Jamaica rebuild and recover.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with me, for believing in the resilience of Jamaica, and for helping bring relief to those who need it most.
With love and gratitude,
Dr. Caurice Wynter
