Hi, I’m Doug. After receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis in January 2025, I felt called to Volunteer in ALL 50 states for wonderful organizations like Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity and Ronald McDonald House. I also recently started a Random Acts of Giving mission that I’m calling Dying to Give.

I’m convinced that the HAPPY hormones, chemicals (endorphins) I’m receiving from Volunteering and Giving are HELPING to keep my cancer at bay. So your donation can quite literally HELP me live longer! You can learn more about my tour and giving on Instagram @dyingtoserve or dyingtoserve.com

Since starting my Volunteer mission (Dying to Serve) in March, I’ve already volunteered for 30 wonderful organizations across 27 states and have driven over 10,500 miles! My volunteer mission has been featured in The Washington Post, The Guardian, PEOPLE Magazine, NPR, CBC (Canadian Broadcasting), NBC News, and many local TV affiliates (links below).

Your donation will be used to fund my travel, housing, vehicle, gas, flights to Hawaii and Alaska (need to volunteer in both to complete my 50 state mission), medical needs and anything left over will go towards my Dying to Give Random Acts of Giving mission. Currently, I have about 1/4 of the total raised remaining with 3 months left in the tour so I definitely need to raise more.

Unfortunately, due to the broken United States healthcare system, I have spent my life savings just trying to survive these last few years. That’s why I’m asking for your support. I realize it’s a big ask as we all have our own burdens to bear but I truly believe that I can and will do much good with the time I have left.
