Born in Flourtown, PA, and raised in the Mayfair neighborhood of Philadelphia, Doug’s journey has always been about connection. From the earliest days, playing piano with his beloved sister Danielle, to mentoring students for over two decades, Doug has poured his heart into everything — and everyone — around him.

A life filled with music and meaning

Whether strumming his guitar, attending live shows, or exploring the world with his husband Rick — Doug lives for the moments that bring joy, discovery, and togetherness. His passions also include movies, TV, professional wrestling, and most of all, traveling and cruising with Rick, his soulmate and greatest adventure partner.

A legacy of giving back

Doug has dedicated 25 years to mentoring young people, guiding countless students and spearheading community projects that left a lasting impact. In his professional life, he’s spent the last decade at Comcast, building a career grounded in leadership, service, and unwavering integrity.

A journey marked by strength

Doug has faced deep personal losses over the years. But from each heartbreak, he emerged stronger — building a new kind of family through friendship, love, and chosen bonds. That path brought him to Rick, and together they’ve built a beautiful life surrounded by five children, eleven grandchildren, and a world of love.

Now, Doug is facing his greatest battle: cancer.

As he undergoes treatment, the emotional and physical toll has been matched by an overwhelming financial burden.
